Arsenal have had so many players perform brilliantly this season.
The Gunners retained all their top players from the last campaign, and they completed eight new signings in the summer transfer window.
That has taken them to a whole new level this term. They are currently on top of the Premier League and Champions League tables and have also made it into the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup.
Mikel Arteta is delighted with how well his players have fared this season. One of them seems to have surprised him – Cristhian Mosquera.

Mikel Arteta says Cristhian Mosquera’s performance levels at Arsenal were unexpected
Arsenal signed Mosquera from Valencia in the summer for an initial fee of just £13 million.
Not many people in North London had really heard about the Spaniard, and his arrival went under the radar as he was the club’s second-cheapest permanent acquisition of the window after Kepa Arrizabalaga.
However, Mosquera was outstanding for Arsenal in the games he played before suffering his injury.
The youngster replaced William Saliba at the back, which is not an easy thing to do, but he barely put a foot wrong in the Frenchman’s absence.
In his press conference on Wednesday, Arteta was asked if Eberechi Eze’s presence has made Martin Odegaard better because they are competing for the same position.
The Arsenal manager feels that this is the case in every area of the pitch and mentioned Mosquera’s surprising performances.
He said, as relayed on HaytersTV: “I think we can extend that to any position in the squad and that is what we have tried to do with Piero (Hincapie) arriving or Mosquera, that probably (we) didn’t expect that much of the level of performances that he had.
“That’s what we want.”

Arsenal have the best defence in the Premier League thanks to William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes in central defence.
Those two centre-backs are absolutely elite, but Mosquera has all the qualities to be just as good as them.
The young Spaniard is good on the ball, excellent without it and can play both as a centre-half and at right-back. He is very aggressive, great in the air, and is not fazed by the occasion at all – just re-watch his performance at Anfield.
£13 million for a player of that quality, and still only 21, is incredible business, and by the time he reaches his prime, we are convinced that he will be hailed as one of Andrea Berta’s best signings.
