Whilst it is still very early in the season, Liverpool have now taken charge of the Premier League title race, with Arsenal and Manchester City trailing in their wake.
Whilst Arsenal and Manchester City both succumbed to defeat on Saturday, Liverpool were able to put three more points on the board.
The Reds may not have been expected to challenge for the title this season, having finished a distant third last time around, and being under the guidance of a new manager in Arne Slot. They are now two points clear of reigning champions Manchester City, though, and seven ahead of the Gunners.
Mikel Arteta’s side are certainly not producing the form of prospective champions. Arsenal have been warned that the title is slipping away from them.
The North London outfit have now also been assured in no uncertain terms that Liverpool mean serious business this season.

Mo Salah statement should concern Arsenal
In the wake of Liverpool’s latest victory, iconic Liverpool forward Mo Salah took to X to make a statement.
The Egyptian winger said: “Top of the table is where this club belongs. Nothing less. All teams win matches but there’s only 1 champion in the end. That’s what we want.
“Thank you for your support last night. No matter what happens, I will never forget what scoring at Anfield feels like.”
The 32-year-old has made it clear that the Merseyside outfit are prepared to go all out in pursuit of the title this season.
Before the campaign kicked off, Arsenal will have considered Manchester City to be their main rivals for the crown, but they can now be under no illusions that Liverpool must be taken seriously.
How Arsenal can challenge for the title
If Arsenal are going to make a concerted title bid this season, they must improve their current form immediately.
Arsenal need their big players to step up. Arteta’s side need to rediscover their spark and cutting edge.
The manager may also seek to strengthen his ranks in the upcoming January transfer window.
