Before the 2025/26 season even kicked off, Premier League title predictions were doing the rounds.

Mikel Arteta will be desperate to deliver the league title to North London in May, having missed out on the top spot for three consecutive seasons.

Though pundits are in favour of Liverpool retaining the title, other clubs have strengthened throughout the summer to bolster their chances.

Arsenal are one of those clubs, welcoming six new players so far in a bid to take a step closer to glory.

Mohamed Salah’s Premier League title prediction

Gary Neville has backed Arsenal to win the Premier League, purely out of stubbornness, having made the same prediction three years in a row.

The 2024/25 campaign was won quite easily by Liverpool, who had a ten-point gap between themselves and the Gunners by May.

Last season is now a thing of the past, but the performances of those who shone bright were honoured on Tuesday night at the PFA Awards.

Declan Rice was a contender for PFA Players’ Player of the Year, but was unsurprisingly beaten to the prize by Mohamed Salah

Speaking on the PFA’s TikTok livestream at the awards ceremony, Salah was asked who his favourites to win the Premier League title are, having got his hands on the trophy last season.

Speaking to an Arsenal fan, referring to the Gunners as ‘you’, Salah said:

“I think you have a great team this season. You have a really good chance. I think you are favourites now because you have players that have been together for five years.”

The Egyptian put Arsenal as favourites to end the season top of the pile, sending a subtle message to Arteta as his wait for major silverware goes on.

Arsenal need to deliver the title

Liverpool have strengthened with over £250m of talent this summer, showing Arne Slot’s intent to retain the title.

It’s easy to forget that it’s only the Dutchman’s second season at Anfield, something Salah alluded to when making the point that Arteta’s squad have been together for more than five years.

Pressure is already on Arteta to win the title, which is a huge task, but one that, with the experiences of three seasons of coming second, Arsenal should be well-equipped to tackle.

After seeing the opening day performance, there’s a lot for the North Londoners to improve on, but with 37 games to go, time is certainly on Arteta’s side.
