Ethan Nwaneri is set to commit his long-term future to Arsenal, agreeing a new contract with the North London club after months of negotiations.
The Hale End star enjoyed an exceptional 2024/25 season, netting nine goals in his first campaign as a permanent fixture in Mikel Arteta’s squad.
There had been concerns about Nwaneri’s future, with the player’s camp reportedly eager for guarantees to be made about game time before putting pen to paper on a new deal.
However, Nwaneri will now sign a long-term contract, ending speculation suggesting that he could jump ship and join one of Arsenal’s heated rivals.

Ethan Nwaneri is signing a five-year deal at Arsenal
Just a matter of days ago, a move away from Arsenal for Nwaneri was mooted as a potential outcome, despite contract talks progressing in the last week.
However, these reports were said to be driven by the player’s entourage, with the 18-year-old himself always keen on signing a new contract and staying in N5.
Having developed through the Hale End system and having joined Arsenal at a very young age, Nwaneri has always felt at home at the Emirates and was always going to remain a Gunners player.
According to Charles Watts, his new contract will span five years, with the starlet expected to stay at Arsenal until 2030.
“The good news is that it does appear this will be a five year deal, whether that’s four years with an option or a straight five years we’re not sure yet,” the journalist said on his YouTube channel.
“The word is that this is going to be a five-year deal when this is announced. We said yesterday it looked like it could only be four years, but now it appears it will definitely be a five-year deal, which is brilliant news.”

Ethan Nwaneri’s camp was right to express game time concerns
Arsenal are set to sign Noni Madueke to deputise Bukayo Saka, and this move will likely all but rule Nwaneri out as a right-wing option for Arteta.
Meanwhile, Eberechi Eze is a target for Arsenal, with the Gunners viewing the Crystal Palace man as someone who can provide Martin Odegaard with some cover and competition.
If Arsenal do land Eze, Nwaneri’s central minutes are also likely to decrease, leaving his route to game time very unclear.
Thus, it was reasonable for the player’s camp to be concerned about how their client may continue developing in Islington.
That said, in order for the Gunners to have secured his future, they must have convinced him with a clear plan.
Still only 18, Nwaneri doesn’t need to be overburdened with minutes and should be carefully integrated into the side.
If he’s good enough, he’ll find a way to burst into the team within the next two or three years.
