Myles Lewis-Skelly has had an amazing year at Arsenal.

The teenager broke into the first team under Mikel Arteta and established himself as the club’s first-choice left-back ahead of other experienced players. He then made his senior England debut as well and scored on the same day.

To top it all off, Lewis-Skelly signed a new contract at Arsenal, becoming one of the highest-paid players of his age in the world.

Now, the 18-year-old is back at the Sobha Realty Training Centre for pre-season. He has claimed that he really missed one of his teammates during the summer.

Myles Lewis-Skelly says he’s so excited to see Declan Rice in pre-season

Declan Rice is a very popular member of the Arsenal squad.

The Englishman has only been a Gunner for two years, but he has formed a fantastic relationship with all the players at the club.

Myles Lewis-Skelly is just as popular as Rice behind the scenes. He is not shy at all despite being just 18 and is often seen interacting with his older teammates.

The two players share a great relationship between themselves too, and what Lewis-Skelly has now said about Rice makes that clear.

On his first day back at Arsenal for pre-season, the youngster was asked who he is most excited to see among his teammates.

Lewis-Skelly replied: “I’ll say Dec, man. I miss his banter. Yeah, I’ll go Dec!”

Rice, on the other hand, claimed that he is most excited to see another English Arsenal player — Bukayo Saka.

Declan Rice has taken another Arsenal youngster under his wing

Rice is a fantastic role model to the young players at Arsenal.

The Englishman came through the ranks at West Ham and made his debut as a teen. He has been on the same path that players like Lewis-Skelly are on right now.

The 26-year-old being around the teenager would surely have helped him, and the former Hammers star seems to have taken another Arsenal Academy youngster under his wing too.

Rice has been pictured with Max Dowman on plenty of occasions, and the 15-year-old was spotted with the Arsenal number 41 on the first day of pre-season as well.

Hanging around Rice and other more experienced Arsenal stars will seriously benefit Dowman ahead of what many think will be his first season in the first team.
