Arsenal have produced some fine academy talents in recent years, and another potential star for the future has now emerged in Chido Obi.

The 15-year-old has astonishingly linked up with the under-21 side, and the striker already looks like a prospect who could explode in the future.

Obi has been in sensational form for Denmark under-17s and the Arsenal under-18 sides, and has now earned his place amongst the older age groups at Hale End.

Chido Obi draws Osimhen comparisons

Arsenal academy experts Hale End Productions have now praised Obi, highlighting his strengths, and compared him to Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, whom Arsenal have been linked with for a potential £150m move.

“15 year old striker Chido Obi being called up to the Arsenal U21 is not normal. He’s been on fire over the last 12 months, banging goals for Denmark U17 and Arsenal U18. A physical menace, with excellent hold-up qualities, can finish well with both feet. Our homegrown Osimhen,” they tweeted.

Arsenal have been linked with moves for strikers Santiago Gimenez, Osimhen and Ivan Toney, but given Obi’s immense talent, they may have their long-term solution within the academy.

Osimhen led Napoli to a historic Serie A title last season, and the Nigeria star is renowned for both his incredible finishing ability as well as his combination of speed and physicality proving too much for defenders in Italy’s top flight.

If Obi does have the potential to reach Osimhen’s level, then he should perhaps be fast-tracked through for an eventual debut within the next few seasons, but it is important to not get too carried away when it comes to young players.

Obi will hopefully get a chance to showcase his talent within the under-21s, and if he does incredibly well, then he will look at the likes of Bukayo Saka to realise that there is a path to the first team if he wants it.
