Owen Hargreaves thinks he knows what Real Madrid would’ve privately said about Bukayo Saka after Arsenal beat them

Arsenal absolutely battered Real Madrid in the Champions League this season.

The Gunners were actually the underdogs going into the first leg at the Emirates Stadium, but they smashed three past Thibaut Courtois in that game.

Saka was brilliant against Real Madrid in the first leg even though he did not score, and in the return fixture, the England star found the net to help Arsenal win at the Santiago Bernabeu as well.

Declan Rice won the Man of the Match award in both games, but Saka couldn’t have been far off – he was absolutely incredible over two legs.

Having watched his brilliance, Owen Hargreaves has made a concerning claim about the Arsenal number seven.

What Real Madrid must have thought about Bukayo Saka after Arsenal beat them

Real Madrid are the biggest club in the world.

The Galacticos haven’t had the greatest season, and after getting humiliated by Arsenal, there is a chance that they will miss out on the Spanish league title to Barcelona as well.

Los Blancos are not used to this, so Florentino Perez will surely be working on making his side better next season – irrespective of whether Carlo Ancelotti stays or goes.

Hargreaves, like the rest of us, watched the two games, and he thinks Real Madrid would’ve been really impressed with Saka.

The former Manchester United man went as far as saying that the Spanish club would even be convinced that Saka is good enough to play for them.

He said on Rio Ferdinand’s podcast: “I reckon now, after that – Arsenal won’t want to hear this – Real Madrid will be looking [at Saka and thinking]: ‘He can play for us!'”

Ferdinand immediately replied: “Yeah, 100 per cent!”

What Bukayo Saka has said about his Arsenal future

Saka’s contract situation is a bit of a concern for Arsenal fans.

The 23-year-old will enter the final two years of his deal this summer, and the Gunners should be working really hard to tie him down to new terms.

If Saka runs his contract down until its final year, we’re convinced every top club in the world will consider signing him, including Real Madrid.

But, what does the Starboy think about his future?

Saka said before the Real Madrid clash: “Well, for me, I want to win and I want to win wearing this badge. It’s pretty clear.

“The fans know how much I love them, and you saw on Tuesday (when he returned from injury) that they love me back. It’s a good relationship.

“I’m happy to be here and I want to win here.”
