Patrick Vieira says David Raya, Jurrien Timber and Gabriel Magalhaes would start for the Invincibles
Patrick Vieira has selected David Raya, Jurrien Timber, Gabriel Magalhaes, Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice as the five Arsenal players to make it into the Invincibles team.
Raya has been one of the best goalkeepers in England this season, and some of his saves have seen him nominated for the Premier League Player of the Season award.
The Spanish goalkeeper has won three consecutive Golden Glove awards now, after securing his 19th of the season against Burnley.
Speaking on Sky Sports, Vieira said: “I’m going to say between three and four players? I think Raya in goal for Lehmann.”
TRUE or FALSE: David Raya is the best goalkeeper in the world…
Meanwhile, Gabriel has also made his mark as one of the best players in Europe in his position, and he thoroughly deserves his spot in the team.
“Toure and Campbell… I’m only going to change one of the two… I will keep Campbell, and I’m going to change Toure for Gabriel,” he claimed.
Timber also makes the team following his excellent season at right-back, with the former Gunner picking him ahead of Lauren.
The Invincibles’ midfielder added: “Timber at the right-back. I quite like him. I think he can get in the team as well.”
Patrick Vieira picks Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice over Gilberto Silva and Freddie Ljungberg
Finally, Vieira was also convinced to pick Saka and Rice ahead of Gilberto Silva and Freddie Ljungberg.
“I think Saka can get in the team on the right-hand side, over Freddie Ljungberg. Up front, we’re not touching Thierry Henry and Dennis Bergkamp.
“Declan Rice for Gilberto and keep Robert Pires on the left-hand side. Yeah. So that’s the five changes.”
Saka and Rice have both been massive for Arsenal over the last few years, making the pair very much worthy of being named ahead of two Arsenal legends.
