Arsenal make the trip to West Ham on Saturday in search of another three huge points in their Premier League title push.

The Gunners are fresh from beating Sporting CP in Europe, with a statement victory that is indicative of their newly found form.

Eyes turn back to the Premier League though, with their next opponents West Ham having recently earned an impressive victory over their own away at Newcastle.

Arsenal will be keen to get one over their London rivals while turning up the heat on the title challenge at the top.

Plenty of predictions have been made, with pundits Paul Merson and Chris Sutton the latest to give their view.

Paul Merson makes West Ham vs Arsenal prediction

Heading into the clash, former Arsenal star Paul Merson has discussed Mikel Arteta’s chances of landing a victory at the London Stadium.

The pundit was pretty bullish, giving the Gunners a great chance of victory when speaking to Sportskeeda.

Merson said: “I cannot see anything but an Arsenal win here. I saw them in action against Sporting in the Champions League and Arsenal completely destroyed that team.

“The same thing happened with Nottingham Forest last weekend, I can sense Arsenal finding their mojo again after a few tough results.”

When discussing West Ham, he continued: “West Ham got an incredible win against Newcastle. But they are never going to keep this free-flowing Arsenal team out of the game.

“I have a feeling Arsenal will destroy West Ham’s midfield.”

He gave a huge score prediction to Arsenal over West Ham, one that would make some fans very happy indeed.

Score prediction: West Ham 0-3 Arsenal

Former striker Chris Sutton also believes Arsenal will land all three points, but predicts a slightly tighter match against the Hammers.

He said on BBC Sport: “The Gunners were not in great form without Odegaard, but he makes them a different proposition and I am going to say he will make the difference in a very tight game.”

Arsenal and West Ham head-to-head record

In their last five meetings, Arsenal have a mixed record against West Ham, which could create questions over whether the Gunners can take maximum points.

Both teams have an equal record in their last five meetings, which Arteta will need to swing in his side’s favour this time around.

Overall though, Arsenal have a far superior record against West Ham, something they will be looking to extend.

It may have absolutely no bearing on how the match plays out on Saturday though, with players needing to step up on the big stage.
