Arsenal and Liverpool are expected to be in the race to win the Premier League title again this season.

The Gunners have finished second three years in a row, and many in the game feel that Mikel Arteta has to get over the line in the upcoming campaign.

Liverpool, who are the defending Premier League champions, have strengthened their squad massively in this window and are still eyeing a move for Alexander Isak.

The Reds are really strong, but can they win back-to-back league titles? Paul Scholes has had his say.

Paul Scholes predicts who will win the Premier League in 2025/26 – Arsenal or Liverpool

Arsenal should back themselves to go all the way in the Premier League this season.

Yes, Liverpool are very strong, and they will become significantly stronger if they end up signing Isak in the coming days.

However, Arsenal have made six new signings already in this window, and they have finally found the prolific striker they have needed for over three years.

That should give them a lot of confidence, but many in the game are still backing Arne Slot’s side to retain their crown this season.

Scholes, who knows a thing or two about winning Premier League titles, thinks Liverpool will win it again, but he has spotted a potential issue that could cause them a major problem.

He said on The Overlap: “Can’t look past Liverpool, I don’t think.

“But I still think they need a new centre half. If one of them (Virgil van Dijk or Ibrahima Konate) gets injured, that could be an issue.”

Arsenal’s season could be defined before the end of September

Arsenal will have to start their season very strongly to win the Premier League title.

The Gunners have the most difficult start to the campaign, with games against Manchester United, Liverpool, Manchester City and Newcastle United all scheduled to take place before the end of September.

If Arsenal are in a better place than Liverpool at the end of that run, they could become the favourites to win the Premier League title.

That’s because the Reds will lose their best player, Mohamed Salah, for the Africa Cup of Nations, which is scheduled to take place in December and January.
