Arsenal fans would love to sign Kylian Mbappe this summer, but that is an impossible dream.

The French superstar is one of the best players in the world, and despite a difficult relationship with Los Blancos fans, he is going nowhere this summer.

Arsenal have their options already, and there are several interesting names linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium.

One of them has now been likened to Mbappe – Marcus Rashford.

Paul Scholes says Arsenal-linked Marcus Rashford is England’s ‘closest thing to Kylian Mbappe’

Rashford has once again been linked with a move to Arsenal from Manchester United.

The England international was dreaming of joining Barcelona, but the Catalans decided against triggering their option to buy him and signed Anthony Gordon instead.

Now, Rashford’s future is up in the air, and there are rumours that Arsenal could have a look at him to strengthen the left side of their attack.

Paul Scholes was asked about a potential move to the red side of North London, and he revealed the one concern he would have.

He replied on The Good, The Bad & The Football podcast: “The only thing I’d worry about Marcus is his attitude, really. Now look at Arsenal, he’s going to have to be part of a team. He’s going to have to work his b——s off.

“When he left United, he didn’t bother. You know what I mean? Now we haven’t seen loads of him at Barcelona, but he’s still he’s done well for them.

“If he’s prepared mentally to work up and down and do all the team stuff, the ability is ridiculous, really.

“We’ve seen little glimpses in England. He’s probably our closest thing to (Kylian) Mbappe.”

Marcus Rashford’s consistency should be a big concern for Arsenal

We don’t know if Rashford is England’s closest thing to Mbappe, but he is a hugely talented player.

On his day, the Manchester United forward can tear defences apart and win games on his own. He does put in a shift off the ball when he wants to as well.

The problem, however, is consistency.

We may see a world-beater for a few games and then someone who seems really disinterested for a long period.

That is not what Arsenal and Mikel Arteta need right now, which is why he shouldn’t be considered as an option in this window.
