Arsenal are the favourites to win the Premier League title, but Manchester City are not giving up.

Pep Guardiola’s side thrashed Crystal Palace 3-0 on Wednesday night to close the gap to the top of the table back down to two points.

That means Arsenal will not be able to clinch the Premier League title at the Emirates Stadium with a win over Burnley – they will have to wait until the final game of the season away at Crystal Palace.

Guardiola is not backing down just yet, but he has conceded that there’s nothing in his side’s hands anymore.

Pep Guardiola admits Arsenal will decide the Premier League title race

Even though Arsenal are in the driving seat, the Premier League title race is far from over.

The Gunners will realistically have to win both their games against Burnley and Crystal Palace to become champions.

Any other result will put the ball back in Manchester City’s court, as they have a superior goal difference and have scored more goals.

That is why there is reason for Guardiola to be optimistic, but the Spaniard has conceded that it’s all down to Arsenal now.

He said, as per the Evening Standard: “Depends on them [Arsenal]. If they win two games – nothing to do, nothing to talk.

“All we can be is in there just in case. The last two games are tough.”

Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City team selection suggests he has given up on the Premier League title

Manchester City have an FA Cup final against Chelsea this weekend, and that gives them the opportunity to win their second trophy of the season.

However, with the Premier League title race still not over, many expected Guardiola to name a near-strength team against Crystal Palace on Wednesday night.

To everyone’s surprise, the City boss left Erling Haaland, Rayan Cherki, Ruben Dias and Jeremy Doku all on the bench.

The Sky Blues still convincingly won the game, but leaving out so many key players suggests Guardiola prioritised the FA Cup final over the Premier League title race.

Is that a sign that he has given up? We think so!
