Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has now revealed what he expects from Arsenal in the Premier League title race.
Arsenal reinvigorated their Premier League title push with a 2-1 win against Nottingham Forest on Tuesday evening.
This victory made it back-to-back league wins for the Gunners, who having been top of the table on Christmas Day, endured a run of dreadful form over the New Year period which saw them tumble a little way down the table.
There are good reasons to believe that Arsenal can still be crowned champions this season, but they will have to be near-perfect for the remainder of the campaign.
Mikel Arteta’s side now face a huge test on Sunday when they will welcome current league leaders Liverpool to the Emirates Stadium.
A win against Jurgen Klopp’s side would take Arsenal to within two points of the Reds. However, it would also give Manchester City an opportunity to creep up on the frontrunners too.

Manchester City and Pep Guardiola wary of Arsenal and Mikel Arteta threat
The reigning Premier Champions currently have the same amount of points as Arsenal, but also hold a game in hand. This would be ominous enough for both the Gunners and the Merseyside club, except Pep Guardiola’s side also look to be hitting top form, as they have won their last four league matches on the bounce.
Guardiola is not expecting his side to be afforded an easy run to another title triumph, though, and believes that Arsenal pose a real threat to his side’s status as champions.
Speaking to Premier League Productions, the former Barcelona coach said, “Arsenal…Mikel, in the first season settled the squad, and now he’s there. So, I don’t have the feeling that they’re going to drop much points, and that’s why we have to win as much games as possible.”
Guardiola certainly knows Arteta well, as the man who now has a seat in the Emirates Stadium dugout used to act as his assistant at Manchester City.
What’s more, Arsenal ran Manchester City close in the title race last season, and the north London outfit have invested heavily in their squad since then. They will now be aiming to go one step better than last time around, and claim their first league title in 20 years.
