Arsenal are back in with an outside chance of the Premier League title, and today’s game against West Ham will be crucial.
A victory over Liverpool last week proved that Arsenal have plenty of quality, and arguably the best defence in the Premier League, and this could be a key factor as they aim to challenge for the Premier League title.
Despite some issues in front of goal at times this season, and a dip in form meaning Arsenal lost valuable points in December, Mikel Arteta’s side are not one many teams will want to come up against.
Former Liverpool and Spurs striker Peter Crouch has now praised Arsenal, and highlighted one particularly strong aspect of their play.
Peter Crouch praises Arsenal’s pace
Speaking on That Peter Crouch Podcast, the former England attacker claimed that the Gunners are a side who can cause problems through their speed.
“They’re a good side, Arsenal, they can beat anyone on their day. Very good side,” he stated.
“They’ve got pace, that scares you doesn’t it?”
Arsenal have now won three games in a row, but West Ham will prove to be a stern test today, as Arteta aims to beat Moyes for the first time since December 2022, with the Hammers beating Arsenal twice this season already.
Arsenal’s speed in attack

Arsenal’s lack of pace going forward without Gabriel Martinelli has been highlighted, but with him in the team, they are a deadly force in attack.
The Brazilians’ sheet speed on the wing also opens himself up as an option for David Raya to launch long throws and balls to, and this proved particularly effective against Liverpool.
Arsenal have been scoring more from fast breaks in recent weeks as a result of the goalkeeper’s improved performances, and the likes of Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Jesus have proved lethal on the counterattack.
The Gunners have plenty of attacking tools at their disposal, despite calls for Arteta to sign another centre-forward, and the team has recently been playing at such a high technical level, that opposition defences eventually break down, with 10 goals in the last three games.
Even Manchester City tasted defeat when they came up against Arsenal at their best this season, with Martinelli scoring the winner, and the winger will be crucial to any potential success for his side this season, given that he is the fastest player in the starting XI.
