Piers Morgan is one of the most vocal Arsenal fans on the planet.
The journalist often makes headlines for some of his outrageous remarks, but at times, he does make some good points too.
Morgan has now had his say on Arsenal star Bukayo Saka, and we’re sure every Gooner will agree with his assessment.
Piers Morgan reacts after Bukayo Saka misses out on PFA Team of the Year
Arsenal and Manchester City were the two best teams in the Premier League in the 2023/24 season.
The two clubs fought hard for the title until the final day of the season, but Pep Guardiola’s side finished first in the end. That was heartbreaking.
Arsenal and City will be in the title race again this term, and both clubs have started the season well – picking up 2-0 wins on the opening day of the campaign.
After that happened, the PFA announced their Team of the Year and five Arsenal players made the list. However, one big name was missing – Bukayo Saka!
Chelsea’s Cole Palmer, Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins and Manchester City’s Phil Foden made the cut ahead of the Arsenal number seven, and that shocked Morgan.
He took to social media to question how Saka, who is one of the best players in the world, has not made the Team of the Year.
He tweeted: “Great to see five Arsenal players in this XI, but how the hell has Bukayo Saka not made the cut?
“He’s one of the best players in the world now, not just the Premier League.”
Another Arsenal player was unfairly snubbed
An argument can be made that Saka deserved to be in the Team of the Year, but it has to be said that Foden, Watkins and Palmer all had good Premier League seasons as well.
So, seeing them make the team ahead of the Arsenal star is understandable.
Morgan is not wrong to be upset about Saka’s exclusion, but the one thing he should be really angry with is the fact that Kyle Walker was picked ahead of Ben White.
The Arsenal defender was the best right-back in the Premier League by a considerable distance last season, and he really should’ve made the cut.
Arsenal fans were furious that Walker was picked ahead of White – many people felt it was really unfair. We agree!
