Piers Morgan has hailed Kai Havertz for finally getting his Arsenal career truly up and running.

Kai Havertz took a while to start proving his worth at Arsenal. Upon arrival at the Emirates Stadium, following his £65 million summer switch from Chelsea, he looked short on confidence.

It also took the German a while to adapt to the tactical requests being made of him by Mikel Arteta. Having played primarily as a striker in his time at Stamford Bridge, the Arsenal boss shifted him into a midfield role which he did not look entirely comfortable with at first.

At times this season, Havertz has been the target of some savage criticisms. Piers Morgan himself has previously mocked the 24-year-old whilst he was struggling to find his feet at the north London club.

However, Arteta’s patience with the player now looks to be seriously paying off. The midfielder made another massive contribution against Luton Town on Tuesday evening.

On top of scoring a vital goal against the Hatters, Havertz produced a battling all-round display. As per WhoScored statistics, he had five shots, played four key passes, won six aerial duels, completed two dribbles, and made one tackle.

Whilst Declan Rice will grab the headlines for his last gasp winner, and David Raya’s errors will be held under the microscope, Havertz’s contribution should not be forgotten.

After the match, Arteta was full of praise for the 42-cap Germany international. As quoted by the club’s official website, the manager said, “I thought Kai played his best game, he’s getting better and better. That’s what we need, players that start to raise the level and get in a good moment.”

Havertz has now scored three goals in his last four outings for the club, signalling a remarkable turnaround in his fortunes. He suddenly looks like a player full of confidence and is making the kind of impact in matches that he was signed to do. The potential and talent was always there, but he is now finally tying everything together.

Even Morgan has now changed his tune on Havertz. He admitted on X that “Havertz is enjoying a shocking revival.”

The former Chelsea man now needs to maintain this momentum and carry on making the kind of aggressive attacking runs that have brought him such joy in recent games. He is proving his doubters wrong and need to show that he can shine on a consistent basis.
