Arsenal sporting director Edu Gaspar has helped oversee many key changes in the club’s operations since 2019, and is now becoming a popular figure.
Many questioned Edu as Arsenal continued to struggle on and off the pitch after he returned to the club in 2019, but his ruthless transfer approach has helped Mikel Arteta build a title-challenging squad.
Edu explained the processes behind his transfer decisions when it comes to squad building, and his methods are clearly working, as Arsenal have built a superb young squad with smart signings, and are now beginning to sell well, with Emile Smith Rowe departing for a total package of £34m.
Other clubs have spotted his good work, and one Premier League owner now wants to poach Edu from Arsenal.

Nottingham Forest want Arsenal director Edu Gaspar
Brazilian outlet UOL have now revealed that Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis, who owns the Premier League side as well as Olympiacos in Greece, wants to hire Edu.
Edu is being targeted as a CEO who can specialise in International football beyond the Premier League.
His playing days saw the Brazilian feature for Valencia, Arsenal and Corinthians, whilst he has worked in director roles at Corinthians and the Brazil National Team.
Edu’s strong work at Arsenal, as well as his knowledge of other teams and leagues, makes him an attractive option to help fix operations at Nottingham Forest.
Could Edu Gaspar leave Arsenal?
Right now there is no indication that Edu will leave any time soon, or that he is interested in a move to Forest.
Mikel Arteta is set to sign a new contract at Arsenal, and Edu has worked closely with the Spaniard in the current project to bring major trophies to the Emirates.
Until their good work pays off and lands silverware at Arsenal, with the side coming close to the title last season, it seems unlikely that Edu will be keen on leaving, especially to join Forest, who have endured chaotic leadership and transfer decisions since their promotion to the Premier League in 2022.
Forest were deducted points last season after transfer breaches, and in each of their summer windows so far, they have spent heavily on a huge number of players with very little to show for it, perhaps indicating why they want Edu to steady the ship.
