Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard had another night to forget during the Gunners’ defeat to Paris Saint-Germain.
Odegaard left Arsenal fans calling for his exit after the midfielder’s no-show performance against PSG.
When the stakes couldn’t have been higher in the Champions League semi-final, the Arsenal captain shied away from the spotlight, attracting harsh criticism.
French media called Odegaard a ‘ghost’ against PSG as the Norwegian failed to make any impact, a topic that has become a theme for the playmaker this season.

Gabby Agbonlahor slams Martin Odegaard after PSG nightmare
Odegaard was one of Arsenal’s worst performers against PSG, on a night that saw several figures struggle to excite the Emirates.
All eyes were on the captain on the biggest of occasions, as the 26-year-old fluffed his lines, drawing critique from fans and pundits.
One former player to comment on Odegaard’s performance was Aston Villa’s record-holding icon Gabby Agbonlahor, who slammed the Gunners skipper on social media.
Agbaolahor posted on X to communicate his disappointment with Odegaard, and Arsenal as a collective, taking an expletive swipe at the Norway international.
“Arsenal not great! Beating PSG at home isn’t for everyone! Odegaard a bluffer why is he asking crowd for more all the time when he’s doing f— all himself?”
The Aston Villa legend wasn’t impressed with Odegaard’s demands to the crowd when he was failing to deliver on the pitch, calling the captain out for his actions.
Odegaard has a point to prove
Completing only 23 passes against PSG was a low for Odegaard, whose entire season has been dull by his standards.
Agbonlahor wasn’t impressed, and neither were plenty of others, as frustration continues to grow around why the midfielder is not producing.
Martin Odegaard’s nightmare vs PSG
23 passes completed
1 key pass
1/4 crosses completed
1/5 successful dribbles
3/8 duels won
13x possession lost
PSG were hard to break down, and in a time of dire need, Arsenal had no one to call on to provide that moment of magic, with the inspired figure usually being Odegaard.
The skipper has not produced for some time, giving Mikel Arteta a decision to make regarding whether he sticks with the midfielder or opts to refresh his side where possible.
