Arsenal have put in some sensational performances this season, and have blown teams away at times, scoring a lot of goals in the process.

Between January and March, Arsenal embarked on a remarkable winning run which saw them rack up big scorelines as they punished teams with ease, the highlights of which include 6-0 victories away at West Ham and Sheffield United, as well as a 5-0 win over Burnley.

Arsenal broke several club and Premier League records with the win at Sheffield United, which saw them go 5-0 up by half time, and the game was won within 15 minutes.

Chris Wilder’s side were powerless to stop Mikel Arteta’s team, and striker Oli McBurnie has opened up on the difficulties his team faced when coming up against this Arsenal team.

Oli McBurnie claims Arsenal are the best team he’s ever faced

Speaking on The Stomping Ground podcast, McBurnie claimed that Arsenal’s display in the 6-0 win was the best team performance he had ever come up against.

“When we played Arsenal that day, that’s the best team I’ve ever played on the day,” McBurnie stated.

“I always thought Man City – no one would touch Man City, City away was always the worst game in the season, like I didn’t want to play because I felt like they just keep the ball, then I’m just running around.

“But on the day, in terms of performances and players I’ve played against, them at that minute, and I’ve played against some unbelievable players, that Arsenal performance against us that day, was the best I’ve ever played against.”

Although Sheffield United have had a difficult season, that should not detract from just how good Arsenal’s performance was on the day.

Martin Odegaard, Gabriel Martinelli and an own goal from Jayden Bogle put Sheffield United to the sword within 15 minutes at Bramall Lane, and Declan Rice and Kai Havertz piled on the misery.

Arsenal were first to every ball, attacked with intensity and played a defensive line so high that centre-backs William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes were essentially camped in the opposition half.

The hosts could not get a sniff of the ball, and McBurnie was withdrawn at half time after he managed just 11 touches of the ball as his side could not beat Arsenal’s press at all.

Man City battled to a 2-1 win at Bramall Lane earlier this season, with Rodri scoring a late winner in what was a competitive game, but Arsenal blew Sheffield United away with their relentless attacking movement.
