Dembele went off against Paris FC after just 27 minutes, and the French champions claim that the substitution was just a precaution.

But a muscle strain just before the European Cup final is far from ideal, and Arsenal will be keeping a close eye on updates about the 29-year-old.

Paris Saint-Germain have confirmed that Ousmane Dembele has suffered a calf strain ahead of the Champions League final on May 30.

Over the next few days, the current Ballon d’Or winner will remain under medical treatment as they look to get him ready to face Arsenal.

PSG released this statement on their official website: “Ousmane Dembele, who was taken off as a precaution during last night’s match against Paris FC due to a muscle strain in his right calf, will remain under treatment for the next few days.”

However, Fabrice Hawkins claims that PSG are expecting Dembele to be ready for the final, despite his recent injury.

Bradlet Barcola could replace Ousmane Dembele vs Arsenal

Dembele will be the key to PSG’s attack, despite having Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Desire Doue on either flank.

Arsenal target Bradley Barcola would be the most likely candidate to replace Dembele in case the French international is not ready to start.

Barcola is expected to leave PSG this summer, but he could play a key part against one of the clubs chasing his signature.

Liverpool are also after Barcola, and the 23-year-old is believed to be keen on a move to Anfield.

But it could be interesting to see whether Mikel Arteta’s team can convince him to move to North London instead and will get to impress in the final in Budapest.
