Arsenal travel to Paris for the second leg of their crunch Champions League semi-final.

Arsene Wenger has shut down Wayne Rooney after the former England striker claimed Arsenal had a fear of winning trophies, Declan Rice also rubbished the remarks.

Mikel Arteta has been boosted by the news that Jurrien Timber and Riccardo Calafiori should be fit and available for the clash at the Parc Des Princes.

Rice has also backed Martin Odegaard amid criticism of the club captain’s recent form and the Norwegian will be key to overcoming a ‘crazy’ advantage that PSG have over the Gunners heading into the game.

Achraf Hakimi warns Arsenal to expect ‘crazy’ atmosphere

Speaking at his pre match press conference ahead of the Champions League semi-final second leg between PSG and Arsenal, defender Achraf Hakimi has fired a warning to Arteta’s side.

Hakimi stated: “The game tomorrow is absolutely huge and I know that the whole city will be following it and we have this will to go.”

The Moroccan international then explained how the Parc Des Prince atmosphere would heap even more pressure on the Gunners during the game.

Hakimi explained: “We know that we have this stadium and this public and we know it’s going to be a crazy atmosphere and the pressure will be on the opponent.

“This is something helping us and motivating us and this can help us in tough moments during the game.”

Arsenal must copy PSG and silence home crowd

Rooney ripped into Arsenal fans for the flat atmosphere at the Emirates Stadium during the first leg but that was down to PSG’s excellence in the opening twenty minutes of the game.

Ousmane Dembele fired an early opener and then the French champions controlled possession and the tempo of the game to subdue a raucous home crowd.

It is now Arsenal’s turn to repeat the feat and Odegaard will be key in being brave on the ball and getting control of the game, he showed glimpses of what he is capable of in the Premier League defeat to Bournemouth.

Midfield will be a key battle and if the Gunners can get the upper hand in that area, the intimidating atmosphere may just soften and Arteta’s men can pounce.
