Arsenal fell to a narrow defeat in their Champions League semi-final first leg against PSG.
Martin Odegaard struggled in the Arsenal player ratings v PSG as the captain struggled to have any impact on the game when his team needed his creativity most.
Thomas Partey’s suspension proved costly in the opening goal as Ousmane Dembele found too much space on the edge of the Arsenal penalty area and fired into the corner past David Raya.
Mikel Merino had a goal disallowed as fans ripped into the referee for some of his decisions but pundit for the game Wayne Rooney had a message for the Gunners fans.

Wayne Rooney disappointed with Arsenal fans
Speaking on Amazon Prime Video’s post match coverage of Arsenal’s defeat to PSG, Rooney has slammed the Emirates Stadium crowd for their role in the loss.
Rooney stated: “Disappointed with the fans as well. I think the fans against Real Madrid were excellent and pushed the team. I thought tonight they were a bit subdued.
“Almost an anti-climax that Arsenal beat Real Madrid, that they’re going to walk into the final and win the competition. The fans had to be there for them tonight, the players had to show up, but I think on both sides it wasn’t good enough for Arsenal.”
Mikel Arteta’s side now have it all to do as they head to Paris needing to over turn the one goal deficit in order to progress into the final.
Daniel Sturridge believes Arsenal can still progress to Champions League final
Also speaking on Amazon Prime Video’s post match coverage of the game, pundit Daniel Sturridge has stated his belief that the Gunners can still progress in the tie.
Sturridge stated: “PSG have never won it before and Arsenal turned up here tonight and believed they could go toe to toe with them. I still think Arsenal will go over there and cause problems and get a result.”

Bradley Barcola and Goncalo Ramos missed good opportunities to extend PSG’s lead and perhaps put the tie beyond Arsenal.
It will take a huge effort to win in Paris but the Gunners still had moments in the first leg with chances for Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard, they will need to be taken in the return fixture.
