Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale is reportedly weighing up his future at the Emirates Stadium.
According to The Mirror, Aaron Ramsdale is in no rush to decide if he wants to eventually leave Arsenal, having seemingly lost his place in the starting XI to David Raya. In the short-term, he has no plans to push for a move.
Mikel Arteta handed Raya his Arsenal debut in the Gunners’ last Premier League game, against Everton. The Spanish shot-stopper then kept his place ahead of Ramsdale for the Champions League clash against PSV Eindhoven on Wednesday evening.
Despite having been generally very impressive since his £30 million arrival at Arsenal in 2021, Ramsdale appears to have now slipped down the pecking order.
If Raya is picked to start between the sticks for the north London derby clash against Tottenham Hotspur this afternoon then that will surely establish Ramsdale as the club’s second choice option.

Ramsdale faces tough task at Arsenal
At 25 years of age, and ambitions to make himself the England No. 1, it would be understandable if Ramsdale were already considering pushing for an Arsenal exit.
With EURO 2024 coming next summer, Ramsdale needs regular game time if he is to stand any chance of usurping Jordan Pickford in the national team set up. A move in the January transfer window could be the only way for him to get the consistent minutes he needs.
However, Arteta would be unlikely to be happy to see Ramsdale go. Despite apparently preferring Raya, the Spanish coach will recognise the importance of having two top class ‘keepers at his disposal.
It would seem, though, in the short-term at least, Ramsdale has decided to stay at Arsenal and fight for his place. He only signed a new long-term contract with the club in May of this year, so clearly has a desire to represent the Gunners.
If Raya is able to impress in today’s derby clash, though, then Ramsdale will face a tough task in breaking back into this team.
