Arsenal players took part in the club’s media day this week as part of the final preparations for the 2024/25 season.

Mikel Arteta’s squad will start the Premier League campaign similarly to they finished the last, with only one new face to report at the Emirates.

Riccardo Calafiori represents Arsenal’s only new arrival of the summer so far, being the second piece of business as David Raya’s loan from Brentford was made permanent.

This week, the players carried out their media duties as part of Arsenal’s media day ahead of the new season, with one rarely-seen face spotted amongst the activity.

Kieran Tierney included in Arsenal’s media day

The squad of 2024/25 posed in Arsenal’s new kits for photos and content to use ahead of the season opener against Wolves on Saturday.

All of Arteta’s first teamers were at media day except for Eddie Nketiah, which fuelled the rumours of a possible exit this summer.

Included in the content was rarely-seen ace Kieran Tierney, who hasn’t played for the Gunners since the 2023/24 Community Shield win against Manchester City over a year ago.

The Scotland international looks likely to end his five-year association with Arsenal this summer after falling out of favour with Arteta, with media day giving fans a possible last chance to see the defender in club colours.

Only time will tell where the next steps of Tierney’s career take him, with no strong links to other clubs listed at this moment.

Tierney has had a difficult time at Arsenal

Since Arsenal’s evolution under Arteta, Tierney has sadly been one that has suffered as a result of the Gunners’ growth over the past few years.

Arteta’s switch in what he wants from his fullback’s has seen the Scotsman’s more traditional approach to the position take a hit, with the 27-year-old now at a point of no return in North London.

A loan spell at Real Sociedad was bright for Tierney last term however, the results back at the Emirates only proved how he is no longer required by Arteta.

Still, it was a positive to see the left-back involved with the squad on media day, regardless of the capacity of his return to the Sobha Realty Training Centre.
