Arsenal have some of the most talented players in the country coming out of their academy.
Hale End has produced several top talents over the years. Bukayo Saka is the biggest of them all, while Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly have started to shine now as well.
That has saved Arsenal millions on the transfer market, and Mikel Arteta will be hoping there’s more to come from the academy in the coming years.
However, one young player could now be on the verge of leaving.
Arsenal youngster Ayden Heaven spotted at Eintracht Frankfurt’s stadium
Ayden Heaven is one of the most talented young defenders at Arsenal.
The 18-year-old has been a part of the Gunners’ academy since 2019. He has come through the ranks at Hale End and has impressed in every age group.
Arteta gave Heaven an opportunity in Arsenal’s pre-season tour of the United States last summer, where he even started a game against Manchester United.
After that clash, Arteta branded Heaven as ‘remarkable’ for his performance against the Red Devils.
On Friday, ESPN’s Archie Rhind-Tutt revealed that Heaven was in attendance at Eintracht Frankfurt’s Deutsche Bank Park to watch them play against Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga.
Frankfurt’s CEO Markus Krosche confirmed to the journalist that he is trying to sign Heaven and has even started talks over a move.
He said: “We spoke to Arsenal. We try to sign him. He’s a really good prospect and we’ll see if we can find a solution with him.”
Ayden Heaven’s difficult contract situation at Arsenal
Arsenal Insider confirmed in December that Heaven had rejected two contract offers from Arsenal.
Premier League rivals Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City all had their eyes on the youngster, while Borussia Dortmund, Bayer Leverkusen and Marseille had him on their radar as well.
Arsenal were still trying to convince Heaven to sign a new contract that would keep him at the club beyond the end of this season.
But, so far, the Gunners have failed to do so, and Heaven flying over to Frankfurt to watch them on Friday night increases the fears that he is about to leave.
That would be a real shame as Heaven has the potential to become an excellent defender in the coming years.
