Thierry Henry is widely regarded as one of Arsenal’s greatest ever players.
The Frenchman has found the back of the net more times than anyone in the Gunners’ club history, netting 228 goals across his two spells in N5.
Henry also scored more goals at Highbury than anyone else, with these exploits often sparking conversations about where the former striker ranks in the pantheon of all-time footballing greats.
Regularly cited by new Arsenal players as one of the reasons they were attracted to the club, the 47-year-old’s legacy has extended far beyond what he was capable of producing on the pitch.

Riccardo Calafiori says ‘unstoppable’ Henry is the Premier League’s best ever player
Riccardo Calafiori joined Arsenal this summer largely because of the exciting project that was on offer at the Emirates, but also because of the glamorous past that the club flaunts, with Henry the poster boy of this success.
Asked by Goal whether Henry ranked in the top ten players in Premier League history, Calafiori responded, ‘sure’.
Quizzed on whether the player is in the top five and then top three, the Italian remained staunch with his positive replies.
Asked if he’s top one, the Arsenal defender said: “I can say yes. He was amazing, I think. Unstoppable!”
Calafiori isn’t the first to issue this bold claim, with many more believing Henry is the best player to grace a Premier League pitch.
However, the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Mo Salah and Kevin De Bruyne will certainly feel they stake a claim in the debate.

Thierry Henry’s goalscoring statistics at Arsenal
The likes of Erling Haaland and Alan Shearer can certainly match Henry’s goal-scoring output for the Gunners, although neither could bring what the World Cup winner could bring to a team outside of putting the ball into the back of the net.
An electric dribbler, an extremely hard worker out of possession and a creative force, Henry holds the record for most Premier League assists in a season.
Creating 20 goals for his teammates in the 2002/03 season, only De Bruyne has matched this with 20 in the 2019/20 campaign.
| Henry’s Goal-Scoring record for Arsenal (all competitions) | ||
| Season | Appearances | Goals |
| 1999/00 | 48 | 26 |
| 2000/01 | 53 | 22 |
| 2001/02 | 49 | 32 |
| 2002/03 | 56 | 32 |
| 2003/04 | 51 | 39 |
| 2004/05 | 42 | 30 |
| 2005/06 | 45 | 33 |
| 2006/07 | 27 | 12 |
However, Henry managed to produce for the team in all these other aspects, whilst maintaining a spectacular goal-scoring record.
Netting 20 goals or more in seven consecutive seasons, including five in a row in excess of 30, Henry was a truly elite player who always provided immense value to the teams he played in.
