Arsenal star Riccardo Calafiori has impressed since signing from Bologna in the summer, but his injury record is starting to become a concern.

The defender has shown flashes of his ability through the Premier League campaign so far, but has yet to string together many matches due to his availability.

Calafiori was an injury concern vs Manchester United in the recent FA Cup defeat, with the left-back missing out through a muscular issue.

It’s just the latest in a long list of injury worries for the Italian international at Arsenal, with his record to date making for stark reading.

Riccardo Calafiori’s injury history and record

So far in his Arsenal career, Calafiori has had four spells on the sidelines in just over half of a season at the club.

Spells out in September, October, November, December and January have painted a picture of a player who is struggling to string together performances.

It may not be a big surprise either, given his injury record during his time at AS Roma, Genoa, Basel and Bologna.

What games could Riccardo Calafiori miss for Arsenal?

Calafiori’s injury was described as a small muscular problem, which could hint at a return to the side in the near future.

It does, however, make a return in the North London Derby against rivals Tottenham unlikely though, given the quick turnaround.

If Calafiori can return to training, then perhaps a clash with Aston Villa could be on the cards, while the Champions League follows.

It’s a busy period for Arsenal, one in which they will need all of their players available to get the most out of their matches.

While the Italian international is fighting to get back to fitness, there is, fortunately, some cover in the form of Myles Lewis-Skelly.
