Gabriel Jesus was stretchered off the pitch during Arsenal’s FA Cup defeat against Manchester United.
The Gunners crashed out of the FA Cup after 120 minutes of action at the Emirates, seeing Ruben Amorim’s side progress in the competition.
Arsenal lost on penalties to Man United, who with ten men, withstood Mikel Arteta’s squad’s pressure, in what was a frustrating attacking display.
Once again, Arsenal’s attack was questioned however, one of the most concerning elements of the game came from Gabriel Jesus.

Expert shares Gabriel Jesus injury verdict
After 40 minutes at the Emirates, play was halted as Jesus went down in great discomfort, seeing the striker later stretchered off the pitch.
Following the defeat, Arteta shared his concern about Jesus’ injury, as the Brazilian looked distressed when leaving the action.
Arteta’s worry about the striker might be warranted, as suggested by injury analyst Physio Scout on X after the game.
The expert shared three possible outcomes of Jesus’ injury, with the early prediction being that the 27-year-old sustained an ACL blow.
“Collapse of the knee, pivoting and a tibia bone shift were seen, which usually points towards an ACL injury (+/- meniscus),” the analyst said after reviewing the moment the injury occurred.
“There is still a chance that he’s only suffered a meniscus, isolated MCL injury or just a bone bruise. But that would be an unlikely scenario.”
There were then three potential recovery times mentioned, with the impact of an ACL injury well-known to Arsenal, following Jurrien Timber’s season-long absence in 2023/24.
- ACL: 9+ months
- Meniscus: 3-4 months
- Bone Bruise: Less than a week
Given how hard Jesus has worked to find his form, suffering a significant injury at this moment would be devastating for the club and the player.
Arsenal have to look at the transfer market
Alan Shearer warned Arteta of the ‘gamble’ he’s taking by not strengthening the Arsenal squad’s attack this season.
Arsenal have been linked to several players in the January window however, there isn’t a breakthrough to relay yet, in what is a growing concern for the Gunners.

If Arteta’s side are to win silverware this season, a forward is needed, as the previous few games indicate as Arsenal are simply not converting enough chances.
Almost mid-way through the month, time is running out for the Gunners to identify a target, in what could be a season-defining move.
