Mikel Arteta will need to rely on his full squad to pitch in over the season if they are to win the Premier League among other potential trophies.

Arsenal have made a decent start to the campaign with two wins and a draw from their opening three games so far.

However, with a busy schedule ahead that features the return of the Champions League alongside a North London Derby and a clash against title rivals Manchester City, the Gunners face a crucial period.

That is where the whole squad will be needed most, with Leandro Trossard among those expected to make an impact.

The Belgian international has been a major success at the Emirates Stadium since joining the club last January from Brighton.

That’s despite his relative lack of starts, with his impact from the substitutes bench felt particularly during tight games.

That has led to plenty of praise in particular from Rio Ferdinand during the first international break of the season.

Rio Ferdinand praises Arsenal star Leandro Trossard

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Ferdinand lauded praise on Trossard as one of the best in the Premier League when coming from the bench.

“They’ve [Arsenal] got the best 12th man in the game, in the Premier League the moment, [Leandro] Trossard.”

Ferdinand isn’t the only one who seems to believe that Arsenal have a gem on their hands with Trossard in the team.

The 29-year-old was the subject of transfer interest over the summer window, but ultimately ended up staying at the club.

Reports stated that Saudi Arabian club Al-Ittihad made a bid for Trossard on an initial loan deal with an obligation to sign him permanently from Arsenal for up to £30million.

While the Belgian was open to a potential move, it was eventually shut down by the Gunners as they looked to keep hold of him.

It may prove to be a crucial decision on how the Premier League title race ends up, given his importance to the side.

Why Leandro Trossard is so important to Arsenal

The signing of Trossard has been an especially important one to Arsenal over the past season or so due to his clinical nature in front of goal.

While the forward isn’t always starting, his lack of rhythm doesn’t stop him from finding opportunities to get involved with important contributions.

In his first campaign for the Gunners, Trossard managed one goal and ten assists in 20 Premier League appearances – more than one goal involvement every other time he stepped onto the pitch.

Last season saw those numbers switch as he scored 12 and assisted once in 34 league outings – scoring once every 137 minutes of action.

Even this season, the former Brighton man has only had three appearances but has already scored a crucial goal against Aston Villa.

There’s no doubt that there will be other times that Trossard is relied upon this season, with Ferdinand summing up perfectly why he’s so important to Arsenal.
