Amid all of their spending this summer, Arsenal failed to land a striker, Mikel Arteta will navigate the next six months with Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus.

Arteta will be more than content to have Havertz at the Emirates Stadium, but Jesus is injured again at Arsenal, a familiar story ever since he arrived from Manchester City.

And with Declan Rice suspended for the upcoming North London derby, Arteta’s options are already restricted.

Gabriel Jesus might be available for Arsenal, but if not, Arteta won’t necessarily be able to move Havertz back to the number eight role, given there’s no one to replace him up top.

Perhaps Leandro Trossard could play as a false nine, but it’s certainly not ideal heading into such a big tie, just three weeks into the season.

Benjamin Sesko could be back on the market after rejecting Arsenal

This summer, Arsenal failed to sign Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig, the striker preferred to follow in Erling Haaland’s footsteps and spend another year in the Bundesliga – a player he’s often compared to.

That being said, Arsenal retain interest in Sesko according to reports.

And with that in mind, an update Fabrizio Romano has just shared via the Daily Briefing could be incredibly encouraging.

When discussing all of the possible striker moves next summer, Romano states that he expects Sesko to be back on the market, news that could light up Edu’s eyes.

Arteta clearly loves Sesko’s skill-set, someone he must see as the perfect partner for Havertz in the squad, and perhaps he will eventually get his man.

Arsenal need to give up on signing Victor Osimhen

All summer long, a lot of Arsenal supporters have been begging the club to pursue Victor Osimhen.

The Napoli striker was available and yet Edu didn’t make a move, which should tell a story.

And even though Arsenal have a special clause to buy Osimhen, it’s a move they need to move on from.

In truth, Osimhen’s year on loan in Turkey is only going to make him a less appealing option for Arsenal, given he’s no longer playing in one of Europe’s top leagues.

And if the club are looking for striker who they can mould and improve, there really isn’t a better profile than Sesko out there right now.
