Arsenal have inflicted pain on many clubs in recent months.

The Gunners have been the best team in the Premier League this season and are deservedly seven points clear at the top of the table.

A lot of Arsenal’s success is down to their recruitment in the summer. Andrea Berta made eight new signings in what was an unprecedented window at the club.

One of his signings was Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace, and his old manager has expressed disappointment in that sale.

Oliver Glasner says Crystal Palace’s heart was ‘torn out’ after Arsenal signed Eberechi Eze

Oliver Glasner has done a phenomenal job at Crystal Palace.

The Austrian is now regarded as one of the best managers in the Premier League, and he is destined to manage a bigger club in the near future.

Glasner was absolutely furious on Saturday after his Eagles side suffered a 2-1 defeat to Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.

The Palace boss’ anger wasn’t because of the defeat or the performance; it was directed at the decision makers at the club for two things they did – selling Eze to Arsenal in the summer and Marc Guehi to Manchester City one day before their game against Sunderland.

In an explosive rant after the game, he said on BBC Match of the Day: “I feel we are being abandoned completely. I can’t blame any player. They did everything they could, and this has been going on for weeks and months now.

“We have 12, 13 players from the squad available, and we feel no support. The worst thing is selling our captain one day before playing a Premier League game. We are preparing, it’s the first [full] week we are training since September, and then we are selling our captain one day before a game. So I have no understanding of this.

“I have always kept my mouth [shut], but I can’t because I have to defend these players, because it was the 35th game today.”

Glasner further added: “If you get your heart torn out twice this season, one day before a game, it was with Eze in the summer, it was with Guehi now… What should I tell the players all the time? What should I tell them?”

Eberechi Eze has found himself in a strange position at Arsenal

Eze’s dream came true when he joined Arsenal in the summer.

The Englishman was absolutely delighted to wear the famous red and white, and some of his early performances were magnificent as well. The hat-trick against Tottenham is the highlight of his Gunners career so far.

However, since Martin Odegaard’s return, Eze has barely played for Arsenal and has spent most of his time on the bench.

Even during the game against Nottingham Forest, when the game demanded some creativity, Arteta turned to Mikel Merino before asking Eze to come on.

This is a really strange period for Eze, but we all know how talented he is, and we’re sure he will be back playing regularly very soon.
