Gabriel Magalhaes is one of Arsenal’s most important players.
The Brazil international has been an ever-present in Mikel Arteta’s defence since he joined the Gunners from Lille in the summer of 2020.
Gabriel did a lot of things right early on in his Arsenal career, but he had his flaws too. However, over the last few years, he has been among the best in the business.
Fulham striker Rodrigo Muniz appears to be a big fan of him.
Where does Gabriel Magalhaes rank amongst the greatest Arsenal centre-backs of the Premier League era?
Rodrigo Muniz says Arsenal’s Gabriel Magalhaes is the best defender in the world
Gabriel Magalhaes is widely regarded as one of the best centre-backs in the world.
The Arsenal number six has been incredible over the years, and he is now the first-choice for Brazil under Carlo Ancelotti as well.
Gabriel’s performances in the Premier League were previously overshadowed by William Saliba, but he has since broken out of that.
Everyone recognises his brilliance now – not just as a defender but also at the other end of the pitch thanks to his ability in set-pieces.

Muniz, who has faced Gabriel on a few occasions, has hailed the Arsenal star as the best in the world now and claimed that almost every player in the game would say the same about him.
He said in an interview on ESPN Brasil: “And I think the best defender in the world right now, Gabriel Magalhães, is also very difficult.
“And I think not just me as a striker, but almost all players would say that.”

Arsenal need Gabriel Magalhaes more than ever now
Arsenal have suddenly found themselves in a very difficult position.
Just a month ago, the Gunners were looking like they would win the quadruple, but they have since crashed out of two competitions, and their Premier League title chances don’t look as concrete anymore.
Gabriel hasn’t really made any mistakes at the back to be blamed for Arsenal’s troubles, but his side have missed his strengths on the opposite side.
The Brazilian hasn’t scored a goal since the first game of this year, and Arsenal need that more than ever now as they go through a tough period.
The Gunners’ next game is against Manchester City at the Etihad. Gabriel has scored there before, and Arteta will hope to see him do it again next Sunday.
