Piero Hincapie was Arsenal’s final signing of the summer, but perhaps the Gunners’ most exciting addition of the window was Eberechi Eze.

Eze is a top player, and speaking on TalkSPORT, Roy Hodgson has been discussing the attacker after his move to Arsenal, and he says that Eze is a very exciting signing.

Hodgson spoke about Eze after making his move to Arsenal.

Of course, Hodgson knows Eze well from his time as Crystal Palace manager, and he says that the Eagles will really miss the England international after making this transfer.

“Yes very exciting, he’s a very good player. Just like Marc he’s done exceptionally well in a very good Crystal Palace team. I think they will miss him as well,” Hodgson said.

Eze played a lot of football under Roy Hodgson for Crystal Palace.

Indeed, the midfielder joined Palace under Hodgson back in 2020, while he reunited with the veteran in 2023 upon his return to Selhurst Park.

Hodgson isn’t necessarily known as the most exciting or attacking manager of all-time, but Eze did find room to shine in his teams.

Mikel Arteta has also adapted more of a pragmatic style of play in recent times, and Eze may have a similar role to the one he had at Crystal Palace, bringing about a bit of individual quality in a team that is struggling to create at times.

As Hodgson says, Eze is a very exciting signing, and he could well be a difference-maker for Arsenal in this coming season.
