Arsenal are preparing to welcome European champions Real Madrid to the Emirates Stadium.

It is Champions League glory or bust for Mikel Arteta’s side as they go into the quarter final clash with Carlo Ancelotti’s side knowing that Europe is their last chance of a trophy.

Arteta is using 2006 as inspiration for the current Arsenal squad as the Gunners are yet to concede a goal against Real Madrid following their 1-0 aggregate victory over the Spanish giants in their run to the final under Arsene Wenger.

Arsenal could exploit Real Madrid in the full back areas with the pace of Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli and there are several Madrid stars walking a disciplinary tightrope ahead of the clash.

Seven Real Madrid players at risk of Champions League suspension

The Gunners will be nervy themselves heading into the game at the Emirates Stadium as Jurrien Timber and Gabriel Martinelli could be suspended for the second leg if they pick up a booking.

For Madrid, due to Champions League yellow card rules, they have seven players at risk of suspension for the second leg at the Bernabeu.

Vinicius Jr and Antonio Rudiger are among the most high profile names, whilst Luka Modric and Eduardo Camavinga also feature on the list.

Eder Militao is ruled out with injury for the clash so will not face a suspension risk but Lucas Vazquez and Endrick complete the list of Madrid stars having to be wary for the game against the Gunners.

Ben White could have huge role up against Vinicius Jr

Ben White’s Vinicius Jr nightmare is set to come true in the first leg as the Arsenal full back attempts to keep the Brazilian star at bay.

However, White may also see it as an opportunity to gain an advantage for his side by gaining a first leg lead and potentially weakening Real Madrid for the return fixture.

The Gunners full back has been known to ‘wind up’ opposition players on the field and Vinicius Jr has shown that he can have a relatively short temper when it comes to antics such as that.

Something to keep an eye on for Arsenal fans, especially if White can get the upper hand in the one v one battle, the Madrid winger may just lose his cool.
