Arsenal take on Real Madrid in the quarter-final of the Champions League in what is a huge game for both clubs.
The Galacticos are losing speed domestically. Barcelona are the favourites to lift the Spanish league title after going four points clear of Carlo Ancelotti’s side.
Even though they will still push in La Liga, the priority will be the Champions League, and that is the case with Arsenal as well, who are 11 points below Liverpool in the Premier League.
That makes the Champions League clash on Tuesday night a great watch, and Sol Campbell has picked his combined XI between the two sides.
Sol Campbell says Arsenal’s Ben White is better than Federico Valverde
The wide areas of the pitch will be key for both Arsenal and Real Madrid in the game on Tuesday night.
The Spanish giants have Vinicius Jr and Rodrygo out wide, while Kylian Mbappe can interchange and drift to a winger’s position too.
Arsenal will have Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka on their flanks, and they are capable of producing the goods on their day, irrespective of the opposition.
It will be interesting to see how the full-backs of both sides will deal with the wingers, but in the case of Real Madrid, midfielder Federico Valverde may have to play in one of the full-back positions.
While deciding his combined lineup, Arsenal legend Campbell was asked by Goal to pick between Ben White and Valverde.
The Englishman had a little think but then chose the Arsenal defender, who has played just five games in 2025 because of injury issues.

Sol Campbell’s combined Arsenal vs Real Madrid XI
Campbell was asked to choose between two players from Arsenal and Real Madrid for each position on the pitch while picking his combined lineup.
As we’ve told you above, he chose White over Valverde, but how many more Arsenal players did Campbell go for?
Check it out!
| Players | Sol Campbell’s pick |
| David Raya or Thibaut Courtois | David Raya |
| Ben White or Federico Valverde | Ben White |
| Gabriel Magalahes or Antonio Rudiger | Antonio Rudiger |
| William Saliba or Raul Asencio | William Saliba |
| Myles Lewis-Skelly or Ferland Mendy | Ferland Mendy |
| Declan Rice or Aurelien Tchouameni | Declan Rice |
| Mikel Merino or Jude Bellingham | Jude Bellingham |
| Martin Odegaard or Luka Modric | Martin Odegaard |
| Bukayo Saka or Vinicius Jr | Bukayo Saka |
| Gabriel Martinelli or Rodrygo | Rodrygo |
| Kylian Mbappe or Kai Havertz | Kylian Mbappe |
Campbell has named six Arsenal players and five Real Madrid players in his combined lineup.
There will surely be a lot of debates around this, but if all the players who Mikel Arteta starts today play at their best level, the Gunners have every chance of beating the Galacticos.
However, Real Madrid are the kings of Europe, and it will not be easy to beat them.
