Some Arsenal fans were agreeing with Granit Xhaka after his comments about his red card versus Manchester City.
What’s the story?
Speaking in an interview, the midfielder claimed he ‘100%’ got the ball.
He also took aim at ‘English football’, sarcastically hitting out at ‘toughness’ in the country.
Xhaka was red-carded for leaving the ground during an attempted challenge on Joao Cancelo. However, the Swiss international was shown to clearly win the ball.
My Revenge On Ben Foster
Since Xhaka joined Arsenal in 2016, no player has picked up more sending offs than the midfielder.
Meanwhile, Arsenal have picked up a staggering 10 red cards since Mikel Arteta was appointed manager in December 2019, more than any side in the division.
Xhaka comments on red card don’t help him or Arsenal
Commenting more than a few days after it happened is not the smartest of moves.
Xhaka has not helped himself or Arsenal by talking about his red card against City.
As soon as his feet left the ground there was no way he was going to escape without anything but a sending off.
His comments will only stoke further debate, which is far from what should be happening. Football needs to be the main point of discussion
Xhaka has improved for much of this calendar year. However, Saturday afternoon was a stark reminder of just why he was up for sale.
There is never a dull moment with the central midfielder, and on occasion his rashness can cost his teammates.
And that’s an unfortunate reality.
Here is how fans reacted…
Hes right tbf

He's correct.

Think the ref was certain it was a yellow. He got the yellow card out then it would appear someone said something to him and then he changed it to a red. Or maybe saw which player it was and that made his mind up. Either way Xhaka is right, seen tougher tackles.
His last sentence there is 100% correct and that is the problem. Yes this one should have been a red but so many times against us it isn't.

If you watched the United Vs Wolves game you would’ve realized how inconsistent and reckless the EPL refs have become.
Unfortunately I agree with him,on the fence about it because it’s Arsenal, would have love Arsenal to appeal it
