Many Arsenal fans fear that we’ll end up missing Granit Xhaka if we sell him this summer, and the Swiss international showed exactly why tonight.
Xhaka started for the Swiss against France at the Euros and he was arguably the best player on the pitch. He bossed that midfield and almost every good thing that Switzerland did against the world champions tonight was initiated by him.
Ricardo Rodriguez’s penalty miss when Switzerland were 1-0 up woke France up. Les Blues fought back and went 3-1 up, but the Swiss came back brilliantly, and Xhaka was at the thick of things.

Just a few seconds before the end of normal time, the Arsenal man picked the ball up in his own half and threaded a delightful pass into the path of Mario Gavranovic, who buried it past Hugo Lloris to take the game to extra time.

Switzerland won the game on penalties and Yann Sommer’s final save to knock France out of the competition will make the headlines, but don’t forget that Xhaka was the man of the match.
Arsenal are set to sell the Swiss maestro soon and he will undoubtedly be a big miss. He will be a star wherever he ends up, and hopefully, his performance tonight will increase his transfer value by a fair bit.
