Son of Arsenal cult hero signs with London rivals, he is set to face Max Dowman and Marli Salmon next season

Arsenal recently announced a number of first-year scholars ahead of the 2025-26 campaign.

Arsenal fans are excited by Marli Salmon and the defender was part of the list that included new signing Callan Hamill from St Johnstone.

Salmon looks up to William Saliba and will be hoping to continue his impressive progression at the club next season.

He will feature for the U18 side alongside Max Dowman. The exciting duo are now set to come up against the son of a former Arsenal cult hero after he has been announced as a first-year scholar at another London club.

Emmanuel Eboue’s son signs first-year scholarship with Chelsea

As per Chelsea’s official website, Mathis Eboue, son of former Arsenal defender Emmanuel Eboue, has signed a first-year scholarship with Chelsea.

Eboue joined Chelsea in January having previously been at Watford’s academy and is described as a ‘versatile and creative’ forward.

The youngster has the ability to play all across the front line and has recently earned a place in the England youth set-up.

All eyes will be on how Eboue fares against the Gunners next season and he will be in direct competition with Salmon as the defender tries to prevent the powerful forward from making a mark in their encounters.

Emmanuel Eboue’s Arsenal career

Emmanuel Eboue was signed by Arsene Wenger and became a popular figure with supporters during his time in North London.

He was part of the team that reached the Champions League final in 2006 but did also endure some difficult times at the club, Eboue was once booed off by the crowd during a Premier League clash with Wigan.

Eboue once made the Queen laugh in a bizarre incident at Buckingham Palace, which underlined his charismatic personality that made him so popular at the club.

The Ivorian will now be hoping that his son can follow in his footsteps and compete in the Premier League and on the world stage.
