Spain star Unai Simon has said his international teammate is good enough to play for Arsenal amid interest from the Gunners.
The north London side have been linked with a number of players from La Roja this summer, with Real Sociedad maestro Martin Zubimendi a name who has been rumoured with a move to Arsenal for quite some time.
With Mikel Arteta keen to spend big this summer, targeting players from the potential Euro 2024 champions fits in with the Arsenal manager’s transfer ideology to bring in talents who are proven winners for both club and country.
And Spain no. 1 Simon has now shared his thoughts on Arsenal’s rumored interest in one of his teammates.

Spain star Nico Williams ‘can play wherever’ after links to Arsenal
Speaking on Tablero Deportivo, the 27-year-old Basque shot-stopper was full of praise for his Athletic Club and Spain teammate Nico Williams, with Simon claiming that the youngster could perform at a club like Arsenal.
The north London side have been linked with a move for the La Liga sensation this summer, and this Euros has seen Williams’ stock increase massively, with the Athletic star having a release clause worth £43m.

Simon said when asked about his international and club teammate, and if Williams could be on the move this summer amid interest from Arsenal and other Premier League clubs: “Nico can play wherever he wants and that’s what he’s going to do.
“Well, honestly, I think it’s normal that you hear all these rumours that Nico can go to Barca, that he can go to Chelsea, to Arsenal, it’s normal that you hear that because Nico is a player who right now could play in most teams in the world because of what he is showing in this Euros, because of the growth that Athletic have had this season and because he is very decisive in many situations.”

Gunners should consider audacious swoop for Williams this summer
With Arsenal already closing in on one Euro 2024 breakout star in Riccardo Calafiori, the Gunners could make it two from two with a move for Spain star Williams, who has been electric this summer in Germany.
The Athletic star has a reasonable release clause that will be tempting for the likes of Arsenal to trigger, with Williams a player who could thrive in the Premier League under Arteta.
And with Williams’ international and Athletic teammate Simon now publically saying that the youngster could succeed at Arsenal, all the tools are there for the Gunners to make a swoop for the winger, who could be incredible in north London.
