The transfer window has been closed for over two weeks now, but it’s still tough to get to grips with what Arsenal managed to achieve over the summer.

Indeed, this was a transfer window unlike any other for Arsenal.

The Gunners spent over £250m, adding quality and depth to every single area of their squad.

Viktor Gyokeres arrived to solve the striking issue that has been plaguing Arsenal for years, while Noni Madueke has earned plenty of praise since his arrival.

Speaking on TNT Sports on Tuesday evening, Steve McManaman has been discussing Arsenal’s transfer business, and he says that the Gunners have signed a player who could become what he describes as a ‘world superstar’.

Eberechi Eze could become a world superstar

McManaman shared his verdict on the signing of Eberechi Eze at Arsenal.

Eze joined the Gunners late in the window, and according to McManaman, this is a magnificent addition.

The pundit reckons Eze will only get better as he steps up to a higher level, claiming that he could reach superstar status at the Emirates.

“He’s a magnificent signing. They brought in five or six players and then Eze suddenly right at the end. He’s potentially a world superstar. When he plays in the bigger competitions I think he will get better. He looks like one of those players who will take it on his back and think ‘this is very easy,’” McManaman said.

Eberechi Eze needs to improve

McManaman claimed that Eze has superstar potential before Arsenal’s game vs Athletic Club, but he was singing a different tune after this match.

Indeed, the pundit wasn’t impressed by Eze on Tuesday evening as he struggled on his Champions League debut.

“Eze will go and watch that back tonight, and think to himself. This is a different class of opposition, they’re quicker and stronger than I’ve faced with Crystal Palace. He knows now, his level will have to jump up,” McManaman said.

“If you want to compete, you have to be better and you have to be quicker than he showed tonight.”

Of course, it’s very early days for Eze at Arsenal, but, as McManaman says, he does need to step things up if he’s going to make a serious impact in the Champions League this season.
