Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes is in the running for Premier League player of the season but Stuart Pearce believes Arsenal also have three contenders.
The Gunners went back to the top of the table with a win over Newcastle. Oftentimes, the league winners will end up with the star man for the season as well.
However, Fernandes’ numbers have been so good at Old Trafford that he’s currently a favourite among many to win the award.
Nevertheless, former England left-back Pearce believes that Arsenal have three who are in the same conversation.

Stuart Pearce picks Arsenal trio in player of the season race
The Gunners have had a superb season and despite some negativity and noise around at the moment, this season could still end up a brilliant one.
There’s been some key players as well who have driven the club on, and according to Stuart Pearce, three in particular get a mention for the best.
“Is he (Bruno F) your favourite for Player of the Season?,” Pearce commented for Premier League Productions’ Team Talks programme.
“No, I would certainly put him into the top six, but if you want some names, Szoboszlai at Liverpool has been outstanding, and the three Arsenal players have been outstanding as well, Raya, Gabriel and Rice.”
A lot will depend on if Arsenal win a trophy
There is absolutely no denying that Bruno Fernandes has been brilliant for United. He is one of the best in the world and proves it weekly.
For Arsenal, one of their players winning the trophy will depend a lot on if the team itself wins.
Declan Rice is probably the biggest shout but he faces a big few games. If he can drive Arsenal over the line and win the league and at least get to the Champions League final, then he’ll certainly be in the mix.
If not, then Fernandes might well get the award. As for Raya and Gabriel, it usually takes a lot for defensive players to win but still, they’ve been superb.
