Arsenal picked up a deserved 1-0 win over Ipswich Town in their final game of 2024.
The Gunners were dominant from the first minute. Ipswich barely had any opportunities and just sat back and defended for their lives for most of the game.
Kai Havertz scored the only goal of the game in the first half. He tapped the ball into the back of the net after some good work from Leandro Trossard on the left side.
The Belgian had a decent game, but he did one thing in the second half that angered Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta on the touchline.
What angry Mikel Arteta shouted at Leandro Trossard during Arsenal’s win over Ipswich
Trossard has had to fight for his place in the side with Gabriel Martinelli for large parts of this season, but the Belgian has become a guaranteed starter now.
That’s because Martinelli has to play on the right side of the pitch following Bukayo Saka’s injury.
Trossard was not bad at all against Ipswich and it was thanks to his brilliant work on the left side of the box that Arsenal scored their only goal of the game.
The former Brighton man deserves praise for the work he did, but there was a moment in the 51st minute that didn’t sit down well with Arteta.
Trossard was on the left flank and he received the ball from Gabriel Magalhaes. The Belgian tried to stop the ball and turn, but he miscontrolled it.
That happened in front of the Arsenal manager and he was not happy. Arteta was heard shouting “Eyes on the ball” as he slapped his hands on his thighs.

Trossard has to do one thing for Arsenal in the coming games
On his day, Trossard is one of Arsenal’s best players.
The Belgian can play in a number of different positions, he’s good with both feet and has the ability to create and score goals. Many think Trossard is Arsenal’s best finisher as well.
In the coming games, Trossard has to step up and produce his best performances. With Saka out injured for a long time, the senior players in the squad like the Belgian have to prove their worth.
The 29-year-old is never happy when he’s benched. He will play a lot in the coming weeks, and it’s time for him to produce some serious numbers in those games.
If Trossard can do that, there’s every chance Arsenal can pip Liverpool in the Premier League title race – even without Saka in the side.
