The end of season awards are soon going to be upon us and Arsenal’s Declan Rice is right in there with a shout of being named top dog.

Rice has been influential for the Gunners all season long but a lot could come down to if Arsenal get over the line and win a trophy.

Away from Rice, both Bruno Fernandes and Bernardo Silva have once again excelled for both Man United and Man City, putting themselves in the race as well.

However, according to Gary Neville, there is one clear winner.

Gary Neville names Bruno Fernandes as his Premier League player of the season

In fairness, there’s not much to separate the three names mentioned here. All three have been superb and all three have helped carry their teams.

However, Fernandes’ output has been brilliant for United and according to Neville, that gets him the nod.

“All have been brilliant for their clubs. I like them all. I have said last week that I think Bruno is the player of the year this year,” Neville said.

“I think for Manchester United to be third position is, not entirely down to him, but it is in large part down to him.

“I think the impact he’s had on his team has been greater than the other two. The others have played in far better teams as well, Arsenal and City are miles ahead of United so I’m going to go with Bruno.”

Fernandes has been exceptional for United and Neville is right in that they’d be nowhere near the top three without him.

However, Arsenal have still had a momentous season and Stuart Pearce said just a few days ago that three Arsenal stars can put themselves in the conversation.

“Is he (Bruno F) your favourite for Player of the Season?,” Pearce commented for Premier League Productions’ Team Talks programme.

“No, I would certainly put him into the top six, but if you want some names, Szoboszlai at Liverpool has been outstanding, and the three Arsenal players have been outstanding as well, Raya, Gabriel and Rice.”

Fernandes probably is the main man here based purely off stats. But if Arsenal can win both the league and Champions League, then suddenly Rice might jump to the front of the queue.
