Jude Bellingham is all set to become the biggest transfer of this summer, but Arsenal are extremely unlikely to sign him – here’s why.
Mikel Arteta’s side will be on the market for a new midfielder. Thomas Partey will turn 30 this summer, while Granit Xhaka and Jorginho are already older than him.
At least one new midfielder is a priority for Arsenal, and Bellingham would actually be fantastic. However, this move is unlikely to happen.

Arsenal will have to ‘obliterate’ transfer record to sign Jude Bellingham
The Athletic reported last month that Arsenal are big ‘admirers’ of Jude Bellingham.
That’s no surprise at all – the Englishman is arguably the best player of his age in world football, and every top club on the planet would love to sign him this summer.
Arsenal would too, but the Gunners have accepted that it’s extremely unlikely, even though the 19-year-old would be absolutely perfect for us in that number eight role.
The reason for this is Bellingham’s mammoth price-tag. The Telegraph claim that Arsenal will not just have to break our transfer record, we’ll have to ‘obliterate’ it to stand any chance of getting the Borussia Dortmund man.
To add to that, his wage demands will be outrageous too considering that he is one of the most-wanted players in the world.

The Insider’s View:
If we were on EA Sports FIFA 23, we’d sign Bellingham right away, but real-life football is sadly a tad bit more complicated.
Bellingham would be an outstanding signing for Arsenal, but nobody ever expected him to join us, so it’s not really upsetting to find out that we’re unlikely to be able to afford him.
Arsenal, however, will definitely sign a midfielder this summer and we’ve been linked with plenty of names – Declan Rice, Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia have made the most noise recently.
None of them are like Bellingham, but they’re all fantastic players in their own right, and we’d love it if Edu can sign one or two of them this summer.
