Theo Walcott backs Arsenal to beat PSG

Theo Walcott is backing Arsenal to beat PSG in the Champions League final on Saturday as long as they can survive the first 15 minutes.

The former Gunners winger believes that if the team can avoid making any early mistakes, then they could go on to win the match in Budapest.

Following their Premier League title lift, the pressure is now off the North London club to deliver in Budapest, and that could also help their chances.

When asked about the final, Walcott told Sky Sports: “It’s one of those when people always say the pressure’s off, but the kind of players always feel that pressure anyway?

“But I do feel like there’s that kind of freedom element now and that little bit of relief. Of course, there will always be the doubters, but I just feel like they need to stay in the game for the first 15 minutes.

“The previous games they played last year were in the semi-final. They lost in the first 15 in both legs are not taking the chances, but it’s a different outlet now.

“There’s Arsenal to a different kind of mould, and I expect it to be quite exciting to be fair. I really do. It’s going to be interesting. I’m going to be out there, so it’ll be great fun to be part of that. But, I fancy us definitely.”

Ousmane Dembele has been told his injury is fine, which is a big boost for PSG; however, Achraf Hakimi is set to miss the final.
