Theo Walcott has now named one habit Arsenal must get into this season if they are to beat Man City to the title.

Arsenal are getting closer and closer to mounting a successful Premier League title push.

In each of the last two seasons, the Gunners have finished second in the final standings behind Manchester City. Last time out, though, Mikel Arteta’s side were at least able to take the title race down to the wire, with the Premier League crown remaining up for grabs until the final game of the campaign.

The challenge facing the North London club now is clear. Arsenal need to find a way to get over the line and actually get their hands on the trophy.

Plenty are convinced that they are capable of achieving that aim. Three ESPN pundits have backed Arsenal for the title ahead of the upcoming season.

Meanwhile, Arteta is doing all he can to improve his side’s chances during pre-season. Arsenal had a summer training camp in Marbella, and are clearly hoping that that extra work will give them an edge on their rivals.

On top of that, sporting director Edu is hard at work in the transfer window, seeking to bring in players who can take the Gunners to the next level. Arsenal are eyeing up transfer targets after having already landed Riccardo Calafiori.

Theo Walcott shares Premier League title race advice with Arsenal

Former Arsenal winger Theo Walcott has now told the Gunners what they need to do throughout the season to increase their chances of overcoming Manchester City.

Speaking to HaytersTV on YouTube, the pundit said: “Always be positive. Turn negatives into positives as a squad. It’s one thing you can sort of dwell on, the negative side of things, and be in little cliques you know.

“I just think it’s important to always try and flip things into positives in a group environment, try and forget about all this noise.”

Whilst the 35-year-old never won a Premier League in his own playing days, he was involved in a title race and certainly amassed plenty of experience whilst racking up his near-400 appearances for Arsenal.

Arsenal must show resilience to win Premier League title

As suggested by Walcott, there will be setbacks and disappointments that Arsenal will have to overcome in order to become champions. The Gunners are not going to win all 38 Premier League games, and there will be injuries, suspensions, and controversial refereeing decisions that go against them.

What will truly define Arsenal’s campaign, though, will be the manner in which they respond to these blows. This will be decided by the strength of their team spirit, mental toughness, and belief.

Arteta is already strengthening his Arsenal squad in this regard whilst they are on their pre-season tour in the US. The manager is implementing methods to encourage his players to bond and develop a greater sense of unity and togetherness.
