Theo Walcott has shared his belief that Arsenal could soon end their wait to win the Champions League.
The Gunners kick off their Champions League campaign against Athletic Club, who finished third in La Liga last season.
Arsenal face many challenges in the league phase of the competition, coming up against the likes of Bayern Munich, Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid.
Mikel Arteta will love the challenge, particularly now that he has the squad depth to truly compete for the biggest prizes.

Theo Walcott thinks Eberechi Eze and Viktor Gyokeres can win Arsenal the Champions League
Arsenal reached the semi-final of the Champions League last season, missing out on a spot in the final to eventual winners Paris Saint-Germain.
When it comes to European heartbreak, it’s always Paris for Arsenal, who lost the 2006 Champions League final against Barcelona in the city.
The North Londoners haven’t reached the final since that heartbreaking night 19 years ago, but Walcott thinks this season might just be Arsenal’s time to shine in Europe.
Speaking on The Overlap US, the Arsenal icon shared his prediction on who will win the Champions League next summer.
“Tip to win the whole thing? Arsenal are more equipped to win this now,” Walcott said, before calling out the two players who could make the difference.
“They got the personnel going for Arsenal. Gyokeres is the difference in this, and Eze, I’m looking forward to seeing Eze in the Champions League.”
Eze made an instant impact on his full Gunners debut, recording an assist against Nottingham Forest, setting up Gyokeres.
Gyokeres’ scoring record in the Champions League
Eze already has his mind on the Champions League, having never played in the competition in his career.
Gyokeres, on the other hand, set the tournament alight last season in what was his first taste of Champions League action.
For Sporting CP, the Swede netted six goals in only eight Champions League matches over the 2024/25 season.
Among Gyokeres’ goals was a hat-trick against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City, a fixture that surely would’ve turned heads at Arsenal.
Walcott thinks the two attacking players could make the difference for the Gunners this season, with all eyes on what happens in Bilbao on matchday one.
