Thierry Henry now makes surprise Harry Kane admission that will annoy Arsenal fans

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has recently expressed his hopes for Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane.

Arsenal fans will not have fond memories of Harry Kane’s time at Tottenham Hotspur, where he was a talismanic presence and often found a way to score against the Gunners in north London derbies.

Kane left Spurs in the recent summer transfer window, joining German giants Bayern Munich.

Kane spent thirteen seasons with Spurs, but was not able to fire the club to any silverware in that time. There were some near misses, though, as Tottenham twice reached the EFL Cup final in Kane’s time at the club and were Champions League runners up in 2019.

The 30-year-old now stands a far greater chance of finally getting his hands on a trophy with Bayern Munich, as the club are usually an overwhelmingly dominant force in German football. However, things are not going entirely to plan for Bayern Munich so far this season, as Bayer Leverkusen currently lead the way in the Bundesliga, having beaten Kane’s side 3-0 last time out. In fact, Bayer Leverkusen have not lost a game yet this season.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are pushing for silverware of their own. Mikel Arteta’s side are very much still alive in this season’s title race, having beaten Liverpool last time out. However, Arsenal have been warned that they must now build on that result with a win against West Ham United this afternoon.

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry reveals his wish for Harry Kane

Iconic former Arsenal striker Thierry Henry has now admitted that he is keen to see Kane win a trophy now that he has left Spurs. As quoted by talkSPORT, the Frenchman said, “I want Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal to do well. After that, it would be great for the big man [Kane] to somehow grab a trophy.”

“We all know that’s what he’s been chasing for a long time. So we’ll see if he can do it at Bayern Munich, that would be great for him…We always talk about Kane and how great he is – and he is great – it will be a shame if he leaves the game without something under his belt other than goals.”

“You would like the man to win something because he deserves it. At the end, you always get what you deserve, right? But I think a guy like him, the way he is on and off the field, you want him to win something.”

Many Arsenal fans will likely disagree with this sentiment from Henry, remembering how many times Kane put the Gunners to the sword himself. However, the Emirates Stadium faithful would surely prefer that Kane achieve glory with Bayern Munich rather than see Spurs secure some silverware after the striker’s departure.

Like Henry was, Kane is undeniably a great striker. However, what really cemented the former Arsenal man’s legacy are the honours he amassed in his playing career, including two league titles and two FA Cups with the Gunners.
