Arsenal legend Thierry Henry was spotted enjoying his time out in America by making a trip to an NBA match as a special guest.

The former forward has been well-known for his time with the Gunners, earning a reputation as one of the best to play for the club.

His influence reaches well beyond Arsenal though, with his performances impacting those who currently play football and even other sports.

Henry was caught up in Panama’s celebrations against the USA when the side scored a stoppage-time winner in a recent international match, with the visiting side all rushing to the Frenchman.

While he is in the United States, the former forward is making the most of his time by enjoying another passion; basketball.

Thierry Henry swaps Arsenal shirts with Luka Doncic and Jaxson Hayes

Thierry Henry’s influence spans even further than football, often creeping into other sports with stars who looked up to him.

That seems to be the case for NBA stars Luka Doncic and Jaxson Hayes of the Los Angeles Lakers, who welcomed the former Arsenal star to a recent match.

While in the United States, Henry made time to visit the match between the LA Lakers and the Chicago Bulls.

While there, he swapped two signed Arsenal shirts with Doncic and Hayes, in return for their own jerseys.

It was certainly an iconic moment between one of the best to do it in football and some of the current greats in basketball.

That isn’t the only time that Henry has outlined his love for basketball though, with it being a passion of his outside of football.

Thierry Henry has already revealed his love for basketball

Thierry Henry has already revealed that he enjoys NBA and basketball as a whole, explaining his trip to watch the Lakers.

Speaking on the Ringer NBA podcast in 2018, he said: “At the time, we didn’t have a lot of games [on TV].

“They were only showing the finals, and so at the time, the finals were the Celtics playing the Lakers, and I guess it was an amazing time for me to grow up.

“Then, as you know, the Bad Boys arrived and Michael [Jordan] arrived… and then Kobe [Bryant] and Shaq [O’Neal] and so on. And now my friend is in the game Tony Parker so I have to follow the San Antonio Spurs, and that’s where it all started.”
