Tuchel has now been discussing the injury and also how he feels about Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka also leaving the England camp.

Thomas Tuchel suggests that Noni Madueke’s injury could keep him out for a while; meanwhile, they did not want to take any risks with Saka and Rice.

The England boss claims Saka and Rice were both eager to play for the Three Lions, but it was clear that the pair were both in some discomfort.

Tuchel has been speaking to the media this afternoon, and told Henry Winter: “They wanted desperately to play, to be involved, but it made no sense to take this risk. They were clearly in discomfort. There was a risk of making it worse.”

In terms of Madueke, Tuchel explained that he would “be out for some days” after suffering a knee injury, which will be a big worry for the Gunners.

Madueke’s injury is a huge blow for Arsenal, as the winger had been looking really impressive over the last few weeks.

Saka has looked off the pace at Arsenal during this same amount of time, and losing the former Chelsea man for any time would be a big loss.
